Stay safe out there, especially our suburban friends. It's a big scary world.
There’s more pearl clutching when certain country music singers visit.

Downtown is safe, just best to steer clear of certain areas that hoodlums regularly reside in.

I just don't get it. When someone shoots up a movie theater or church or what have you it's national news for days. Every national politician makes a statement on it, there's talk about how we need to change our gun laws. But when some kids shoot it out in downtown Pittsburgh, that's not even worth talking about and anyone who mentions it is "clutching pearls." Or is a member of the "Starbucks Christmas Cup Crowd" or something.

Can someone explain this to me?

They’re just misunderstood youth acting out because they don’t know any better.

Oh, they definitely don't know any better. Or know any worse. Or know much of anything at all, really.

But they’ll be defended.

The “pearl clutching” phrase always cracks me up. Many simply don’t want to deal with the hoodlums that run amuck and cause trouble/problems on a regular basis.

well, xdv8 is a user that just likes to mock people, and get in low jabs (calling people racist, for example).

Its not like most people here take lightly (yet another) mob fight or shooting at what could be compared to our Grand Central Station - the Wood Street station or nearby.

Assumptions are often funny and most often wrong.

Some don’t understand that not everyone chooses to accept those issues and live that lifestyle.

Calling a racist a racist is very Ok. Calling out the fear mongering for what it is, is also Ok. Don't be so delicate.
