Hi folks - excellent event happening downtown and North Side this weekend: https://doorsopenpgh.org/buildings

It's a rare opportunity to go into these spaces (some closed to the public outside the event). Attended last year and most enjoyed the tour of the Babb Agency and Byers Hall (former mansions on Ridge Rd - Pittsburgh's Millionaire's Row in the 19th century), the Dollar Bank Building and archives, the Frick Building, City-County Bldg, including the Mayors Office, Council Chambers, and city archives. Over 50 sites, ten of them new this year. Plus a series of "Insider Tours". Note that tickets for these must be purchased in advance by 5:00p.m. Friday.

Thanks, looks interesting!

$12 for one day or $17 for both (cheaper for those outside the 18-64 age bracket) actually isn't bad, considering the amount of stuff I wouldn't otherwise get a chance to see.

CB, have you taken any of the Insider Tours?

Yes. Notorious Pittsburgh. Really informative and enthusiastic guide. I think it might be the same guide this year-if only I could recall for certain his name From last year!
