I used to pass by the station daily on the way to and coming back from lunch, even in the middle of the day it was a cesspool. I referred to it as passing by Mos Eisely, hive of scum and villainy and all. I echo the comments of Independentthinking83 and others, if this shooting is to be the last something's got to change on the city gov't side.

Right--I've never felt unsafe in the T station itself.

No. I do know we have a lot of crime downtown. We need to elect a mayor that supports police.

What is a lot?

Obviously a relevant question for any intelligent discussion.

City Paper had a good article debunking the hysteria in this thread.

The hysteria over crime downtown is misguided and completely emotional.

And of course, here we go. The obligatory "I don't care about shootings and stabbings" comments.

Look over there so you don’t see what’s going on over here.

The comparison to other cities, especially chronically bad cites always makes me , as the argument of top lists and that we’re so much better than other cities is most always used.
