Hi,

I am Japanese and moved to the apartment in West Mifflin for work, left may family in Japan last November.
Now I want to bring my wife and two sons from Japan and move to a house in south Pittsburgh.
My question is where is good for my family to live.
My sons do not speak English and ESL is necessary and I don’t know which school has ESL. Elder son is 8th grade and younger son is 6th grade.
There are some houses in Peters town-ship, but I heard that there may not be ESL in Peters. I wonder if there is a school with ESL in Bethel Park, Upper St. Clair or Mt. Lebanon.
Our sons are good at school in Japan and I want them to continue it in United States.
Thanks for your advice!

I know that Baldwin-Whitehall has ESL resources. That is the school district I graduated from. We had a diverse group of international students, due in part to a refugee resettlement agency using an apartment complex within the district. That particular international population was largely Bosnian.

Default ESL in South Hills

I know that both Upper St. Clair and Mt. Lebanon have ESL programs in their schools. I am an English as a Second Language tutor with Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council (GPLC). Through tutoring, I know of three families with children in these two programs. You could probably contact GPLC with questions as well - their website is GPLC :: Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council :: www.gplc.org They also offer free English tutoring to adults, if that would be of interest to your wife.
