St Patrick's Day parade is still a go, even though cities such as Boston, Belfast, and Dublin have cancelled theirs.

Quote:
"Unless city or county officials order the parade to be canceled, it will go on, he said."
"City officials have given no indication that a cancellation is under consideration. On Thursday, officials will talk about public safety preparation in advance of the parade."

There is a very important qualifier in there: "Unless city or county officials order the parade to be canceled, it will go on". There were no comments in the article from city or county officials.

Lots of people in the know in this district. What do you think of this preperation? Overkill, or just being prepared. Personally I think this entire thing is ridiculous, but maybe it is going to be a very bad year! Don't know.

Pennsylvania has a 1955 law on the books that does not allow state or local authorities to release numbers of or locations of people in self quarantine, actual quarantine, people who have been tested but not returned a positive result, etc. Apparently there was appetite to change this law at one point, but it got nowhere. This is unfortunate news for anyone looking for the best available information to protect themselves and their families in the Pittsburgh area. The Allegheny County Health Department cannot legally provide key information.

AHN is now limiting visitors:
Quote:
For now, only one person can visit a patient at a time and those who have symptoms such as a fever, cough or sore throat should not come to the hospital unless they’re seeking medical care for themselves.
