Gov. Tom Wolf has announced that 13 western Pennsylvania counties, including the heavily populated Pittsburgh metropolitan area, can shed his most restrictive Coronavirus pandemic orders on movement and businesses.

The only western county held back, Beaver County, is home to perhaps the state’s worst nursing home outbreak.
Why would an entire county remain locked down, instead of just the nursing home? If I recall a story I read correctly, the New Brighton nursing home had 90% of the cases in the county. I can't see why all the other counties would have government restrictions lifted, especially Allegheny. It seems like if one looked only at statistics, they're masking the reality that Beaver county as a whole isn't more.... "contagious" than other areas in SW PA.

Opinions welcome.

Couldn’t agree more.

Wolf: Because I say so.

Things have been trending in the right direction there this week, new cases have slowed down so maybe in a week they will get moved to yellow. Sure there residents can't leave, but there are people who work there who go home daily that can get infected and then get others in the community sick.

Also, I feel like if he let Beaver County slide for this, they're likely plenty of other counties in the state that would beg him to do the same for them.

Which nursing homes in the adjacent recently turned yellow light counties don’t have workers who go home that can’t get infected and get others in the community sick?

Didn’t Allegheny numbers recently go up due to nursing home patients contracting the virus? Do those workers not go home?

You can thank Wolf for that. He doesn't do well with logic.

There are at least 2 other counties that announced they are also moving to Yellow like Beaver. Will be interesting to see how things unfold.

If everyone on the planet doesn't die from a viral holocaust, Yellow Like Beaver would be a good band name. It has that vague, "I don't fully understand it but it sounds like something I should?" vibe.

Probably prog metal.
