no, it was not about being a good neighbor to a distant city. its about health, money, business, and power struggles or cooperation between each.

Our poorly run state failed on all accounts by not allowing Pittsburgh and our great stadium to be seen by Toronto fans and everyone they play during games here. That is a lot of publicity considering Toronto is in the American League. But we are growing and doing so well here without any publicity and have so much to look forward to during the pandemic.

So, it is a good time to show you how we missed out on much needed publicity/goodwill. Oh, no fans were coming, just free TV publicity and $$!
Pirates play American League teams every year. PNC was opened in 2001. People have seen it for almost 2 decades.

You are entitled to your opinion and that is all it is. MY opinion is the Blue Jays wanted to play in a major league park and PNC was chosen, which is "neighborly", obviously. We extended the use of our park. Clearly it was a kind gesture that was squashed by the morons running our city, state and citizens that could have made a few bucks. Maybe Slice on Broadway would have stuck around to see if the doubling of players at PNC Park would have helped. Guess we will never know. Too bad the idiots in PA's government are so stupid to not understand basic publicity/kindness and just being a good city to others. Whatever.

Players are eating Slice on Broadway enough for it to stay open during games?

You sound more upset than Nutting’s Wallet and I bet he’s devastated.

It was a demoralizing decision all around. It's been a rough year, we had a good opportunity to express some local pride in helping out a team in need and the local Downtown businesses, and then it was ruined by some unelected bureaucrat on the other side of the state. Then Governor had to rub salt in the wound by tweeting "#LetsGoBucks" afterwards, clearly demonstrating that nobody in Harrisburg gives a single ---- about Pittsburgh.

Correct. Our so called leaders are idiots. This thing is going to be a round for at least another year or so. They don’t seem to get we are destroying our children’s lives by not advancing the economy. We can’t sit still and keep printing money.

i think a lot of money would come in for living arrangements - to b&bs, and hotels. but probably not beyond that, because of having to quarantine. im not 100% sure, but probably the athletes would have been instructed to 'stay at home' as much as possible.

i have stated i think it was the wrong decision that i do not agree with...but let's not get ready to riot here. sheesh. they did what they thought they should to contain this pandemic....

oh, now i did it, didn't i?

So which is it? There were no fans coming and no risk of spreading a pandemic, or this was going to pour money into hotels and b&b’s and pizza joints because people would flock downtown?
You realize you have to pick one argument, right?
