Driving to work this morning I had the heat on in the car. Back in the car at 1:00 in the afternoon, I had the AC on.

Can Pittsburghs winters be worse or more depressing than Mass. winters? That kind of surprises me. But what do I know............. I am a Californian.... winter lasts 6 weeks tops.... and much of it is blue skies. (Urrrrrrrrrr)

I don't know about Mass, but Albany, NY was much sunnier (than Pittsburgh) in the winter.

Buffalo, NY is sunnier also. I know, it's hard to believe, but I swear there's over twice the sunshine there. Rain is cool, but the CONSTANT gray days in Pittsburgh are just draining on a person.

By the way, it was a fantastic Memorial Day weekend here. In fact we were finally supposed to get showers and thunderstorms today, but they held off and we spent most of the day playing outside.

Well it was 85 and sunny here -- again...............

No offense Brian, but there is no way to sugarcoat Pittsburgh's weather. I'm from Buffalo, NY for g-d's sake, I know crappy, continuously gray, cold weather when I see it.

And again, that is already too hot for me.

Well, that just means you clearly weren't in Pittsburgh this weekend, because that is not what you would have seen if you had been here.

I predict rain in 3 days. My brother tells me you get our weather 3 days later. It was a rainy, cold Memorial Day here in Colorado.

I do the same thing with my Dad in Detroit (in that case it is more like a day in advance).

By the way, for what it is worth, the current forecast as I write this is:

Quote:
Tonight: Variably cloudy with scattered thunderstorms. Low 68F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%.
Tomorrow: Showers and a possible thunderstorm in the morning will give way to mostly cloudy skies late. High near 70F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60%.
Tomorrow night: Mostly cloudy. Low 47F. Winds N at 10 to 15 mph.
Wednesday: Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 68F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph.
Thursday: Times of sun and clouds. Highs in the upper 60s and lows in the upper 40s.
Friday: Clouds giving way to sun . Highs in the low 70s and lows in the upper 40s.
That Wednesday through Friday forecast is actually nearly perfect as far as I am concerned (but again, I am not a hot weather kinda guy). However, the weather forecasts have not been particularly accurate lately, with today being a good example, in fact. But for that matter, a pilot I know once told me that aviators measure the accuracy of weather forecasts in hours, and he thought the idea of trying to predict the weather days in advance was kinda ridiculous.
