We have no plans to 'upgrade' and are spending the rest of our lives in this house barring health issues.

We've made significant upgrades to the house and the city/school district haven't reassessed yet.

We were over six figures when we bought it.

Not everyone wants to live in a strip mall.

Seriously, if you're so scared that you think you need to be armed in order to ride the T in town, find yourself a nice therapist and see if you can get some meds to help with your anxiety, or maybe meditation where you can retreat to your "safe place".

Oh, and we already know the canned response "But I don't live in fear...I just have a gun to protect myself" line that is used to make themselves not feel week and scared. If that's what is needed to ease the anxiety and feel like there's a shred of self respect, sure...why not. Just don't be under the additional delusion that you're really fooling anybody.
I was making the suggestion in response to a poster who is obviously concerned.

I’ve never rode the T and have never had a need to...and I’m not concerned with “brown people” harming me. I just keep living life.

This sort of attitude is why I'm happy to not live near you, or people like you.

You act like this and then wonder why young high income people don't want to be near you.

I have no idea what you are referring to. My SIL lives in Beechview and has for a few years now and I have never heard her talk about a local rapist. They have their share of crazy neighbor stories but that's it. Edit to add: when the East End actually had a real rapist that was being called the "East End Rapist", it didn't seem to deter anybody wanting to live east of town.

i had to go to the recesses of my memory but wasnt there a guy from the far south hills who actually followed two young women (on different days) and attacked one, and attempted to attack the other?

im too lazy and too busy to google this. this might have been 2018, maybe a little further back.

if i recall, that was all dormont and mt. lebanon.

gg....is that it?

I lived with my then girlfriend in a floor level apartment for years when this guy was raping women, but we had a 110lb Chow-shepherd mix to make us feel safer:

not to be confused with the East End Flasher, I remember this too:

That section 8 voucher has its limits.

Do you think that most people want to be around you? Every time you get suspended from this website people come on here and write about how nice it is. That should tell you something.

If by "young, high income" people you mean these transplants who have moved into Lawrenceville, etc. in recent years, trust me: most people think that those folks are pretty weird, and couldn't care less whether or not they want to live near them.
