Pride nights are just one of many promotions sports teams have. The gains always outweigh the losses.

The most significant thing about NHL pride nights are many of the players wrap pride tape on their sticks for warm-ups. They then are autographed and auctioned off, were the money goes to the "You Can Play Project", an organization aimed at eradicating homophobia in sports.

And lets not forget the Pens Pres of Ops (Brian Burke) was one of the founders of "You Can Play".

Yep, nothing wrong with those nights, however, watching sports on tv is what most want to do. Shoving the woke nonsense down folks throats while they’re watching sports hasn’t worked out well for ratings. Last I read, NFL players won’t have names on the back of their helmets anymore, and LeClown with his political rants hasn’t worked out well for the NBA. Notice MLB also doesn’t barely partake in it during televised games.

Indeed. It helps when your new GM was an NHL goalie and a pretty good one in his own right. I’m sure the improvement in the goaltending was a coincidence since Hextall was hired. I’m sure Hextall never went on the ice to give pointers and some direction.

Lol. You were wrong about Jarry needing a new goalie coach and it’s as simple as that. I’m sure you’re right about Hextall never going on the ice or the media would’ve been all over it.

The media hasn’t been allowed around players much since COVID. Even MM stated that on his show.

“Much” being the key word and there’s always Pens news. If Hextall was on the ice it would’ve been huge news. MM would’ve reported it. Pens didn’t need a new goalie coach and it’s as simple as that.

You don’t always need to be on the the ice to coach. But I’m sure he’s sat back and said nothing since since he’s been hired.

Magically he went from one of the worst save percentages to the best. It coincides with Hextalls arrival. But I’m sure he’s said nothing or hasn’t had meetings with Buckley and or Jarry. I’m glad Jarry is doing better and I’m sure Hextall has provided some motivation behind it.

You certainly don’t but you’re saying he was, and even if he was coaching from a distance it would’ve been reported by players, the media, etc...

I’m sure you’re right, as goalie coaching hasn’t been an issue in many years.

Let us know when you have a link to back up what you say. It was simply a slow start, but I would love to see a link that Hextall came to the rescue. Would make for a great story.
