I was at Home Depot picking up some supplies and heard them rolling down East Liberty Blvd as I was heading to Highland. Just a bunch of quads, dirt bikes and whatever. Nothing about this is legal, so I guess Peduto doesn't care about the law. I am sure the police wants them arrested and those bikes impounded, but what can you do? Someone will be killed, and I think city residences should file suit against the mayor and police for not keeping the city lawful. Sorry, but this is nuts. There was a time Pittsburgh didn't tolerate this crap. I guess the bar just keep getting lower an lower because we are assimilating to a lower class culture. If we didn't assimilate, we would be called "racists". Yeah, the drivers of these illegal motorcycles/quads are black for the most part. 90%. Sorry for noticing. I am sure that is racist of me to have a set of eyes. The new norm.

Misunderstood youth having the time of their lives. Open the bike lanes up to them.

that is just demographics. there are just more young black guys in this area, guys who'd be interested in this hobby compared to caucasians, asians, hispanics. its just a numbers game. i dont think the race, economic class, etc. has anything to do with it.

its young guys catching an American past time (like it or not) that has come around again, as it does every couple decades. there were guys like this when i was a teeny person in the 1970s.

that doesnt undo their being obnoxious.

I’m told they inhabit the East Hills and do much of their riding through there.

Why would you assume “there are just more young black guys in this area, guys who’d be interested in this hobby compared to caucasions, asians, hispanics”?

Since when did riding dirtbikes and atv’s ever stop being popular? I’ve been riding for 40+ years. There’s so many options available for most anyone to ride, and even moreso with so many side by sides options.

Thank you. I don't like why you think I don't like you. I actually don't dislike anyone on this sub-forum. Erieguy is probably the most polar opposite from me in terms of posting style/rhetoric/beliefs, and even then I don't "dislike" him either. Roughly half of my family and friends are Trump supporters. Yes, I do indeed STILL consider them to be "family and friends". I don't need to have an echo chamber like many of my liberal friends on Facebook who keep posting status updates like "If you voted for Trump unfriend me now!"

I am encouraged by President-Elect Biden's victory speech. I really DO hope he can reach across the aisle and find some compromises on some issues that will help heal our nation's divides. I would love to see he and Sen. McConnell shaking hands for a photo-op sometime soon. In terms of a stimulus package Republicans will have to come UP from their $500 BILLION proposal, and Democrats will have to come DOWN from their $2 TRILLION proposal. Something in the neighborhood of $1.3 TRILLION or so should be acceptable to both parties to finally get something passed and out there to help the American people. I hope Biden and whomever he appoints as Secretary of the Treasury can get something done. Me and my fiance are doing fine financially, as our jobs have become MUCH busier due to COVID-19, but I know many others are struggling right now.
There doesn’t need to be any more money printed. It’s beyond crazy that anyone could think this is a good idea. The people are not getting bailed out. They money is disappearing.

I know a fair share of gearhead types from my HS. Would do car meet ups at the stacks, wheelies on their bikes going super fast through the tunnels. They are into these hobbies and used to do stupid stuff like that in their teens. They generally didn’t do well in HS.

But now? For the most part, they didn’t throw away tens of thousands of dollars on a useless college degree, they got into either their own business or trade and have been buying houses, multiple cars, etc. making more money than most Lib college types. They don’t need to pay someone a bunch of money to do something handy around the house, they either do it themselves or have a network of like minded friends who help each other out. They’re all smart, staunch Trump Conservatives too. They get it.

It’s because you’re a racist that you only seem to notice the black guys. I’ve seen this mob a couple of times, and it is not predominantly black.

this is where we need asset forfeiture, lets take the illegal "riders" bikes away from them, for good.

Sure. I have seen them and been blocked at a green light in front of Hook Fish. They had cars and pickups in the group that day. Some guy on a motorcycle stopped traffic on Washington Blvd and they ran the red light there heading into Homewood. I have eyes.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. All of that is due to Peduto. Our city has very little in the way of laws now. Just drive 70 mph on city streets and just do what you want. The new norm.
