He’s weak and his followers embrace it. It’s great to see other mayors that aren’t weak, cracking down on it.

Again how is this Peduto's fault?

What these groups are doing is already illegal so why aren't the Pittsburgh police doing anything?

LMAO. He’s the mayor. Do you seriously believe Peduto doesn’t have a say in handling this situation?

So who qualifies as 'real' leaders in your book? Austin Davis? Paul Abernathy? Majestic Lane? Ed Gainey? Daniel Lavelle? Ricky Burgess? Jasiri X? Esther Bush? John Welch? Richard Garland?
Or do you not recognize those names?

Christian Carter is another LGBTQ connected individual and is not a black youth leader. Most youth leaders are connected to the black church and I cant imagine Christian being connected to a prominent black church. (no pun intended....)

I recognize the names and most notably Esther Bush. I have much respect for Jasiri X and Ed Gainey as both are younger and new to the game. I do not care for Ricky Burgess but I do have the utmost respect for him. Most of those you named represent "real" black people.

Article says otherwise.

Does anyone know if the current Pittsburgh City Councilman Lavelle is related to the Robert Lavelle mentioned above? I know that Councilman Lavelle and his family have ties to real estate..

Robert Lavelle is the councilman's father. The Lavelle's are a prominent Hill District family and was heavy in real estate and banking. The Lavelle's had one of the few black owned full service banks (Hill District) up until the mid 2000's. The savings and loan bank is still in operation and is doing well.

Interesting - thank you, I didn't know this about the Lavelles.

Guess everyone isn’t shrugging their shoulders and saying “they’re just having the time of their lives”...and this response is pretty hilarious:

“It’s a pandemic. We ain’t hurting nobody and its better than going out here and killing somebody,” he said. “All we’re trying to do is have fun and the kids ride with us. We take our own kids out. We can’t ride in the parking lots. We can’t ride in the grass. They don’t want us in the street. So where are we going to ride?”
