I’m referring to people who constantly complain their wage, where they live, what they think they’re entitled to, etc... Instead of doing something about it to make their situation better, they expect someone else to do it for them.

no, its more about the often use of Sweden as some barometer, some kind of model to emulate.

not to knock sweden, but they developed differently than we did. its changing, likely, because the world is in a sense getting smaller with instant telecommunication ability. also, the tens of thousands of migrants that went there over the years will likely have a profound effect in a number of ways.

unfortunately, stockholm has been known as the rape capital of the world from the middle of the last decade onward. why this is is unknown. how strange.

When everything gets shut down and we all start getting free stuff, the references to other countries being better will no doubt disappear, as printing money is totally sustainable.

I suggest you visit countries in Scandinavia and find the nicest homes there. Have a look at the license plates and you will find government tags everywhere. Why? When you have a socialist country the government has it all. Try that in the US. It would be horrific. Capitalism is the best way. Anyone can do well here. We have it great other than the media destroying us. They sure are evil.

He's referencing only me in particular but doing it in a way that moderation wouldn't view it as being a direct personal attack.

He's done this many times in the past in typical veiled trolling fashion to try to elicit a response from me. As one of the few "lefties" on this sub-forum who hasn't yet put him on my ignore list he's really good at testing one's patience.

I have not been "needling" him at all lately, so I'm guessing by "poking" me here he was trying to grab attention for himself. It's a shame, too, because I'm also probably the only "lefty" on here who still has respect of some sort for him. He must be angry that his presidential candidate is expected to lose.

Actually, I’m referencing anyone that plays the martyr in cases like this, and you thinking I pay that much attention to you, especially thinking you poking me is even noticed, is quite funny.

The outcome has almost no impact on me, however, it will certainly have major impact on working folk. I’ll wager you didn’t read Biden’s tax plan, and if he does end up winning, it will have great affect on working folks pay, also. I’m looking forward to the “be careful what you wish for scenarios” coming to fruition for those thinking they’re going to get their financial issues fixed for them.

Come and see us. We'd love to have you here for a visit.

We're a pretty diverse group, but really, outside of these boards and a few vocal local outliers out in the real world, you'll find that most Pittsburghers have a live-and-let-live attitude--especially in whatever passes for more normal times.

These are the same people who are scared to leave their homes due to a 1% chance of being shot by the police and less than 2% chance of dying from the virus. It’s sad how the media has people so scared to leave their homes. They want everything locked down, are likely collecting free stuff, and have no concern for those that need to work to make money to survive.

i really don't want to be a person of polarizing opinion, since the last year a close relative and two good friends have, in my view, been seduced and/or brainwashed by the left and the democrats.

but for the bold - let's see how that plays out in the media, where at the top of every ABC news broadcast, in HUGE font they show the total deaths (which, its been argued in this forum, are suspicious since so many are likely deaths attributed to existing, dangerous conditions like pneumonia, etc.).

when barack came into office, Afghanistan and withdrawal of our involvement there went from news story #1 or #2 to....*crickets*. obama didnt follow through with that at all.

We don't need more "lockdowns".

We just need EVERYONE (not just "the libruls") to MASK UP and go to work.

We just need EVERYONE (not just "the libruls") to SOCIALLY DISTANCE and go to work.

If everyone was effectively masking and social distancing, then our new COVID-19 cases wouldn't be well over 100,000 per day right now in this country.

One thing I am hopeful about with a Biden presidency is that he'll issue a national mask mandate.
