yes which neighborhoods are "rough" Arent any locals on here?

Why would someone live here? I mostly live in Texas which can not compare architecturally. Texas is intolerable during the summer but nice during the winter. A castle could be purchased in the "Rust belt" for $20 a sq ft .I like El Paso and winters are pleasant Beaver Falls is not scary.

It’s a Pittsburgh forum, not a Beaver County forum so you’re not going to find many, if any locals. There’s a map that’s already been provided to show you where the high crime is.

If you don’t find Beaver Falls scary and are interested in it, why not find a real estate agent and do a search for homes?

Thanks but the best old buildings are not usually listed and I found a couple - depends on whether they want to sell.

The real estate listings are pretty dull. Considering I've found gems this week in Cleveland- Niagara Falls etc Beaver Falls scariness is not even a consideration. Maybe a post in the rest of state would be apt though.

Don’t recall anyone saying it’s scary. It’s simply not a desirable area, doesn’t have a good reputation, and there are some areas of very high crime.

Google the area and I’m sure you’ll find plenty of information.

I saw a great one on 55 and Central. Also looked in Lorain but both places have much more blight even taking account size, than Beaver Falls.

Anyway I'm more interested in other impressions of Beaver Falls.

I don’t have anything else for you on this. Lorain, OH and Beaver Falls, PA couldn’t be more similar with blight and poverty rates. Lorain is over 25% and Beaver Falls is 27%. However Lorain is much larger in population. 63,000 live in Lorain and less than 9,000 in Beaver Falls. Pick your poison.

We did a quick tour of the Beaver Valley yesterday on the way up to Ellwood City -- Beaver, New Brighton, Beaver Falls, and the sprawling metropolis of Koppel. If you are looking in these small towns, I love this place in Ellwood City that has been for sale for years:

https://www.thepreferredrealty.com/r...city-pa-16117/

In the 1980s, it was a great "newsstand," with some arcade games in a little alcove in the back that reeked of chewing tobacco ("chew" we called it in EC, although everybody else seems to call it "dip"). More recently, it was a Hallmark store, so you might have to invest a few thousand dollars in "potpourri-related" remediation. As an added benefit, this place is located across the street from EC's first meadery!

I think Ellwood City is a better choice than beaver falls.

I think the Pittsburgh International Race Complex property just north of Koppel might actually be larger than Koppel itself.

I will admit though, that Koppel subway is always on point. Al's Corner is for posers.
