You know, where the bleeding heart woke twits who are his base reside & send their kids to private schools, not the abysmal, corrupt PPS.
Both of my children had an excellent educational outcomes in the PPS system (Obama / Fulton). Both children qualified for and excepted the Pittsburgh Promise which amounts to approximately 50K. Many of my children's classmates are from Morningside, Shadyside and Squirrel Hill.

years ago when i was more idealistic and gave a damn, i did volunteer work with the Murphy campaign. no big whoop - a lot of people did. but this is relative to the story.
so this lady there was all opinionated and such. boy, she had an answer for everything, and knew how to run this city, i'll tell ya.

and i was surprised when she stated she lived in Penn Hills.

"but the pgh mayor affects everyone", etc., was her argument.

she might have been put off when i told her "great, you should share in the city taxes, then..."

And some have friends and family in the city, work in the city, visit the city, etc... And let’s not forget that the city is losing population, lacks desirability to attract people, has lost a huge amount of revenue while not having a robust economy to begin with. Many beyond city folks are affected by who the mayor is.

People that work in, travel to, patronize establishments, etc..., do share in city taxes. It’s called sales tax...and the shut it down folks have caused a huge drop in that tax revenue, and it’s going to take more than just city residents to get it back.

Ahhh, you’re okay with it continuing status quo.

That’s because it’s true. It’s just hard for those that don’t leave their own areas to understand it, along with how important the outside tax revenue coming in is.
