Do you not understand that the projections weren't made by me, but by the company building the pipeline? Do you understand that in the reality test, as in what actually happened in reality, reality failed their projections really badly? As in, the pipeline in reality actually spilled far more frequently than they had projected? I think this can be a yes or no answer, but somehow it sometimes seems like you don't actually understand this.

I understand perfectly....and we’ve agreed many times that projections are often wrong. Reality is 2 large spills in 10 years and you’re assuming there’s going to be more. Results trumps projections and assumptions which is something you obviously don’t understand.

LOL ... good luck trying to have a reasonable conversation with a troll. They're not interested in dialog. They're only interested in being contrarian. People like that never take an original position. It's always a knee jerk reaction that's in contrast to something else. Because if people like that put themselves out there, they open themselves up to criticism, and people like that are too weak and thin-skinned to handle that. That's why they're so full of bluster and false courage. Best to move on.

The truth is often unpopular, and there’s no knee jerk reaction, as the facts were proven by the posted results, lol.

I’ll also wager those begging for all electric vehicles have no idea what’s involved in digging for cobalt and lithium.

Indeed, but I will gladly buy their stocks and make money. The same folks who don’t want the cracker plant but use plastic everyday just like everyone else

I understand that, and it's not like I actually think someone who's dug in their heels despite knowing so little is really going to change their minds. However, since this is a forum rather than a private conversation, I do think it's good to help illustrate just how wildly stupid the arguments are for anyone who happens to see this conversation.

Right, pretty much everyone in the US uses plastics in some capacity. However, plastics aren't the only they they use and some things are overall better suited to other materials as obviously not everything you use is plastic. Similarly, EVs and their batteries don't just pop out of nowhere, but the question is if on balance EVs even with the mining, the electrical generation and transmission, etc. is on the whole more efficient than the mining used to produce all the parts of the ICE powertrain and the extraction, refinement, and distribution of fuel. I think it does make sense to take a look at the entire supply chain and lifecycle and I think it's great that so much scrutiny is put on EVs and that level of scrutiny is something that's also good to turn towards ICE vehicles, gas pipelines, plastic use, ethane crackers, and any proposed substitution or replacement for such plastics.

Same folks still using natural gas and gasoline when electric options are already available. It’s hypocrisy at its finest

That's very true. I'm from a rural Nebraska county where the pipeline was supposed to have been routed. They did everything they could to block it except vote for a Democrat.
