I think its "whitey" that is actually spear heading the effort to remove this statue. This is not a topic of inner city black folk. Too many other things going on.

too many other things going to care to keep it. It's pointless. Not sure what this has to do with liberals.

I'm Italian American. Part of the push at the time was to have some form of recognition for Italians. There are actual Italian Americans who better represent Italian immigrants and contributions to this country. It has nothing to do with woke. The people "outraged" at the idea of removing the statue could care less about the context.

If right wing obstructionist say it enough then it is true. BLM, Trump winning the election, and whatever Trump repeats...its really sad.

Interesting how because Trump is still brought up by left wing obstructionist when he’s not even POTUS. As to BLM, they’re a violent group of opportunists that promotes violence, and nothing more. Just saw their fearless leader spent millions of BLM money on homes for herself, lol. She should put so much money and effort into helping her supporters, cleaning up problem neighborhoods, etc..., versus promoting burning it down.

I’m still looking forward to the “Unity” that Sleepy Joe touted. Instead, he and groups like BLM, Antifa, etc..., are just making more of a divide, especially when touting their way is the end all be all.

I tend to agree. What Sala Udin refers to as "Latte Liberals". I doubt or hope that a Gainey Administration wouldn't give a rat's patooty about removing the statue.

At least the take from the establishment/conventional/non-Right Wing media, is that Biden has indeed avoided these "culture war" issues, to a large degree. Nevertheless, this angle plays quite strongly with Trump's base, and accordingly, there is a steady drumbeat of noise in the partisan, pro-Trump media playing up this angle.

Make no mistake, Trump may no longer be Potus, but he remains, due to Republican cowardice, the most significant threat this country has faced. From the crazy recount going on in Arizona, to the daily indignities/genuflecting that Republican electoral hopefuls engage in toward Trump (see, e.g., https://www.politico.com/news/2021/0...-senate-490504), his influence remains significant.

Lol at cowardice. Many Republicans don’t even think he’s going to run and don’t even support him running. Dems simply living in fear as he still lives in their heads. Even after 4+ years of goosechase and $40m of wasted money, they still have nothing on him but disdain via hurt feelings and changing Obuma policies.

Oh you love that figure! Funny enough, last week, it was reported that Trump cost the taxpayers an extra $26 million in Secret Service expenses because Melania stayed in New York for several months, pulling a Donald-worthy shakedown, on the king dealmaker himself.

The figure is as hilarious as it is ridiculous, especially with nothing to show for it.

Even if that were true, every President incurs huge Secret Service expenses, but excellent attempt to deflect from the goosechase that turned up zero because muh Trump is scary.

Right wing selective amnesia and selective outrage. Remember Trump was outraged by Obama simply playing golf? Then what does Trump due during most of his presidency? I really never think about Trump. I will assume that the left feels the same way. I am thankful and relieved that I no longer have to hear his voice. His press conferences were embarrassing to say the least.

Yet here he is still being talked about, and if the Left felt the same way they wouldn’t be so scared of him coming back, by trying to impeach him twice. They’d be begging for him to run again if he was so insignificant, but instead, they just can’t let go of him.
