So why is crime way up in Pittsburgh?

Likely because the meanie police can’t properly do their jobs without possibly facing ridiculous consequences, and the thugs know it. After all, there’s many enablers and defenders of criminals and the spinning door of justice moves quickly.

This is a funny one. I’m sure lowering the amount of police will help with the skyrocketing crime. https://www.wpxi.com/news/top-storie...GZLTTZITPYQZI/

I think it has more to do with the lack of opportunities and people struggling to make it. Plenty of people roaming without a purpose.

Plenty of jobs available. They should find a purpose.

Lol. Are you saying there’s no jobs available to work in the Pittsburgh area?

Nope, but the region is down 80,000 jobs and the state is 3rd worst for finding jobs. You have said previously that people go where the opportunities are. And even you agreed that there are people without a purpose and struggling economically. Sure crime was going down until Pittsburgh lost all these jobs and show no hope of regaining them back. No correlation to the rise in crime or the reason Peduto lost to Gainey in a shocker. Having the universities hasn’t led to a full recovery or growth. The city was stable but people don’t make good money here. The job losses made a stagnant situation bad.

We are finding out that the Pittsburgh economy was fragile and not as resilient as many thought. Economic decline has led to a spike in crime.

In other words, there’s jobs available for folks in the region. They need to get one and find a purpose
