This could be great news for Pittsburgh. I have friends in high places at UPMC and will discuss this with them and report back. Hopefully there can't be anyone worse than that horrible human being that could be called "the devil himself. Pure evil.

Interesting how rushed this decision appears to be. How often do you see an announcement that the CEO of a large organization decides to retire effective four days later and the successor has already been selected? More typical would've been to day he was retiring in three months or at the end of the current year. The board would then announce a search committee and hire a search firm to do a nationwide search. I;m betting major health problems or some other "issue." He has not been immune to some personal issues in the past, which his handpicked board ignored.

Other than his weight and his divorces, what personal issues does he have?

Some personal, some business related. One related to one of his divorces was cancelling the Animal Friends grant because his estranged wife was on the board of Animal Friends. He switched UPMC's multimillion-dollar advertising contract to the New York firm of his brother, Douglas. UPMC paid more than $3 million in salaries and contracts to relatives of Jeffrey Romoff in fiscal 2009 alone, including payments to his daughters and former son-in-law. There are also millions of dollars in contracts with UPMC board members.

Gotcha, thanks. I knew about his divorce and his pettiness with Animal Friends. And I also knew about his brother's advertising contract.. didn't know about payments to his daughters or to board members.

Wow that on top of letting those of us that don't have UPMC insurance, not to mention all the doctors that were wondering if they were going to lose a bunch of patients due to the greed of that evil person. He sure is a very angry evil person. Hope to never see or meet him ever!

And yet in Rich Fitzgerald and Bogen's weekly COVID press briefing yesterday, Fitzgerald went out of his way to praise Romoff!!

Romoff has been using his brother's advertising firm since the early 2000's, at least for 15+ years as far as I know.

Talk about a HUGE conflict of interest. Keeping people sick is good for UPMC business. Keep those "non-profits" and real estate tax dodgers making billions.

Do you watch how most people take care of themselves? UPMC or anyone else doesnt need to keep sick, they do it on their own pretty well
