1973-75, near churchill. There was a wooded location and dirtbike trails known as 'the dumps' You drove thru a large cemetary down a hill and came to a 30 acre or so wooded area with dirtbike trails. the locals beer'ed up down there until the cops would push you out around midnight with little fanfare. opposite up the trails was a wooded hill with some trails and row of houses up top.

the local teens and twenties used the phrase 'the dumps' as in 'you going down to the dumps?'

My dad and 5 others bought half a dozen Honda K3s (ATC 90s) in 1973 from honda of monroeville and they rode down there friday and saturday, evening into night. My minibike was oft brought along. They would race and losers bought the beer. since I was 10ish and light, my dad taught me to ride the trike, ergo on a 7hp machine, I always won. (it was the start of my 3 and 4 wheeler racing 'career')

anyone remember this and where it was in actuality and where it might be today? was anyone THERE? (and remember my old man?)

Is it the area between Lott and Thompson Run Rd in Monroeville/Penn Hills?

There's some kind of old mine or something there, and I know there's a ton of dirt bike riding that's done there.
