Well Alabama is currently the COVID leader per capita and Florida is hanging on to the number 2 spot. Interestingly enough, Pennsylvania has actually been pretty steady or declining during the Delta surge. I wonder how much of this is due to vaccination rates and state/local mitigation factors. Despite the recent increase in cases, the test positivity rate for Allegheny county is still only about 6% and about 65% of Allegheny county residents have received at least 1 dose of the COVID vaccine with about 60% fully vaccinated. The majority of the recent increase in COVID cases across Pennsylvania are in the most unvaccinated areas such as Crawford county and both Allegheny and Philadelphia counties are doing pretty well during this Delta wave.

Alabama
Deaths per 100,000: 2.74
Daily average deaths: 134.6

Florida
Deaths per 100,000: 1.53
Daily average deaths: 327.7

Pennsylvania
Deaths per 100,000: 0.29
Daily average deaths: 37.4

Keep in mind, states like Florida and Texas have around 1000 moving there daily not to mention all the tourists. PA? Not so much if any. New Jersey is pretty bad at number two. PA was also shut down way more than anywhere. Heck you could still get a bottle of booze in California and they were shut down like us.

I would go with my link. The NYTs can’t be trusted. They have too much agenda.

Small country that has a population 1/2 the size of PA! PA is lagging a bit due to minorities not getting vaccinated, but we are at 80% vaccinated with at least one shot of people over 18. We are doing pretty well here in our state considering our demographics which is a challenge.
