"The shooting in the Mayor’s neighborhood last week prompted around-the-clock police security details for the mayor and his family. Sources tell Target 11 an unmarked car sat outside the mayor’s office for a week."

A shot goes off in his neighborhood and he gets round the clock protection.. even though he wasnt even a target.
Meanwhile, PBP can't solve 75% of the other murders that occur.

And maybe instead of throwing Chief Schubert under the bus, some of the liberals should point fingers at some of their fellow travelers for THEIR contributions to the crime wave.. Rich Fitzgerald for closing Shuman, idiot hippie judges like Mik Pappas for their hug a thug bail is racist initiatives, etc, etc.

Bingo….what a clown all talk no action Gainey is….and Libs will never do that. They’ll continue to defend and enable criminals while blaming the police as crime continues to go up.

I watched a BBC documentary the other day about psychopaths. They've figured out which part of their brains is defective and claim they'll have a brain implant to fix it in 10 years. Imagine no longer having to deal with the effects of this mutation. Shootings would be drastically reduced.

they need to fill that report with SOMETHING, I guess. Tell me how exactly Schubert has shown to be ineffective and so a cause for this "uptick" in violence?

Who is ON this "Transition Team", anyway?

The only real solution is more police in the neighborhoods with the problem. Everyone knows it, especially the criminals. If you can't impose the right solution, you reach for symbolic ones.

What do you think of the 18 year old white kid that was heavily armed, shot and killed 10 black people in a grocery store in Buffalo? Would more police have stopped that event? He’s alread plead not guilty btw.

Or would it have stopped the piece of trash from shooting up the synagogue in squirrel hill?

I bet he is treated with kid gloves (Buffalo shooter)because of his skin color. We shall see though. 10 ten innocent people going about their day in a now growing rust belt city. Shameful. And it shows we have way too many guns in this country. Also magnifies the mental health issues of a lot of people in this country.

Can’t stop mentally unstable and depressed people from committing random acts of violence on people they don’t even know and dislike because of how they look and their ethnic background. And truthfully a good number of law enforcement personnel are on their side, which is sad.

I mean Pittsburgh is the epicenter for angry lonely people committing random acts of violence. We are good for a mass event here at least every 5 or so years. Remember the big dude Richard Baumhammers going on a minority killing spree from Mt. Lebanon to beaver county back in 2000? Richard Poplawski? George Sodini in 2009?

Capital punishment, life without parole, solitary confinement, etc… The revolving door of justice swings too quickly as folks enable and defend criminals. Violent crime has skyrocketed the last 2 years. Criminals know the consequences are weak.

The events in Buffalo and Squirrel Hill were horrific. Everyone condemns them, and rightfully so.
The problem is that you dont think independently - change your username to Liberalthinking83.
Youre politicizing mass killings by white people. Nobody makes excuses for Poplawski. Nobody makes excuses for the Squirrel Hill shooter, or for this person in Buffalo. The overwhelming majority of white people, and of conservatives, have no problem putting a needle in the arm of those monsters.

10 black people were killed in one incident and youre outraged.
But when other people point out the problems that lead to black people getting killed here in ones and twos and threes, you liberals castigate us as racist haters.
You're upset if 10 black people are killed at one time. But if 10 black people are killed over a month or two - well then thats just a result of white supremacy and we cant hold anyone who pulled the trigger accountable..

Liberals dont actually care about black people or black victims of violence - they just like to use black people as a club to bash conservatives with.

Here are some sobering statistics:
Quote:
Pittsburgh Police reported to the New Pittsburgh Courier on May 10 that of the 27 homicide cases in the city so far in 2022, there is a 31 percent “clearance rate,” meaning a suspect has been apprehended and charged. In 2021, of the city’s 56 homicides, the clearance rate was 55 percent.

At least Gainey calls it out.. only a matter of time until Pittsburgh Progressives accuse Gainey of being a Clayton Bigsby-esque black white supremacist....

From the same article:
"Standing by the family’s side was Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey, who is the uncle of Zaviawna Gathers. “I always say that it’s about us as a community; that if we’re really going to make our community safe, it’s about how we stand up for the community. It’s about how we stand up and talk about what’s going on. We have to stand together.”

Mayor Gainey said that more people are beginning to talk about those responsible for the homicides in Pittsburgh’s Black communities, but that momentum must continue.

“I’m here to talk about my niece, but let me say this—to anybody out there that has lost a loved one, and you know that loved one is going through something, and you know something that would help the case…tell somebody. Talk about it. Continue to stand as a community. Together we can solve this. Together we can help one another. That’s the only way we’re going to stop what’s going on today.”"

Oh no you didnt. We need to dispatch social workers and stop incarcerating these poor dears. We also need to teach some children that theyre never accountable for their own actions due to the color of their skin.

The justice system is what it is. I have no issues with the justice system. It isn’t perfect but it’s better than the alternative. Constitutional rights are supposed to apply to everyone. Unfortunately these rights are not evenly applied. Some of it depends on your skin color. Some Cops think they have the responsibility of judge jury and executioner when it comes to people of color. However dirtbags of the Caucuasion persuasion are taken alive and get a shot at a free and fair trial.

Had this shooter been a minority he would’ve been dropped dead on the spot. This guy lives on and gets to experience the free and fair trial that the constitution is supposed to guarantee everybody. And maybe he gets a reduced sentence.

Nothing wrong with the justice system. Unfortunately a lot of law enforcement carry extreme prejudice and the minority shooter would never get the constitutional right to a free and fair trial like this guy does.
