see? im telling you, she is the voice of reason in what some (especially the conservatives on this board) see as insanity - that there is a better way of doing things - you change the CULTURE through education and discussion. dont just pass more laws, spend more money, etc.

i am assuming Kail-Smith was instrumental in putting this together, or even coming up w/ the idea.

Still, they are missing one big point - a LOT of these incidents are adults, not minors, and these occur after hours. well, this is a start, but they...no, WE all need to change our American culture. everyone hates everyone else, for starters.
Clean up the violent crime and criminals. I’d say Big Ed can’t multitask, but I have no confidence in him cracking down and putting these violent clowns in jail. 10 shootings in 3 days and it’ll continue to get worse.

Rule of thumb for the stupids: if you feel a need to bring a pistol to an apartment viewing, it's not a good place to live.

Perhaps the city needs a Big Ed signal to get to alert him to violence and deter criminals, with a community leader as his sidekick. Keep hearing about the plan but haven’t seen anything being done differently

I'll bet it's lower in Pittsburgh.

Quote:
Across a nation that is already in the grips of a rise in violent crime, murders are going unsolved at a historic pace, a CBS News investigation has found. A review of FBI statistics shows that the murder clearance rate — the share of cases each year that are solved, meaning police make an arrest or close the case due to other reasons — has fallen to its lowest point in more than half a century.

"It's a 50-50 coin flip," says Thomas Hargrove, who runs the Murder Accountability Project, which tracks unsolved murders nationwide. "It's never been this bad. During the last seven months of 2020, most murders went unsolved. That's never happened before in America."
