It is not going to be nearly enough. Time to end all of it and get people working. Jobs are everywhere. The swamp needs to go.

Links to everybody staying at home because of government freebies?

Most people I know including myself took the money and made sacrifices to get there. There is a large group of people who won’t and choose comfortable and what they know over making money. It isn’t the majority, but it’s likely the majority of folks you are speaking of.

There is a workforce crater. The oldest millennials are now finally getting a chance at upper management jobs because the boomers are finally leaving the workforce. The youngest don’t have the experience and they are significantly less in number. It really isn’t hard to understand. You can’t go back in time and make people 20-25 years ago have more children. You can’t undo that. Not enough bodies to fill jobs. Not enough young people to fill college dorms. Not enough young people to fill all the service jobs.

There just isn’t enough people to fill the open jobs. The census even showed the population stagnation the last 10 years. The youngest people aren’t having kids. And the majority of children under 18 in this country are non white people. All things set in stone and can’t be undone.

In Pittsburgh’s case we rely heavily on college students to fill the service and hospitality jobs around the region. That group of people didn’t show up to the college dorms last year and are smaller in number with each passing year. Hence the reason why restaurants cant fill jobs around here. We are a region of college students and geezers.

those born in the late 1970s to late 1980s will likely choose to wind down their working careers as stated in the article below. Many may be leaving the workforce in their early 50s because they won’t have to work. It won’t be because of government freebies either. The boomers are gonna leave trillions for their children. Some may choose to stay working, others will wind down early. Again this is already set in stone.

Except we’re talking about government freebies while there’s, and has been, a huge amount of jobs available.

That's because you're old and everyone you know is old.

A lot of young people have different outlooks. They value happiness and it doesn't come from money. They'd rather live more simply and be happy rather than the traditional old model where your entire life is consumed with working.

As for the "freebies" debate, it's Republicans taking the most (from Forbes magazine, that bastion of liberalism)

https://www.forbes.com/sites/shaharz...n-federal-aid/

Quote:
The results are clear and red: 19 of the 25 states with the highest average stimulus payouts have voted Republican in every election since 2000.

The higher up one cuts the data, the more concentrated the results are in red states:
  • Top 25: 76% of the top 25 states that received the largest average payments were red (19 are red states, 4 are purple, and 2 are blue);
  • Top 15: 80% are red states (12 are red states, 2 are purple, and 1 is blue);
  • Top 5: 100% are red states (Utah, Idaho, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Wyoming)
And it's not even an outlier

Quote:
The skew of stimulus payments is not anomalous. Red states have been longstanding recipients of federal dollars. A report published by the Rockefeller Institute of Government estimates the distribution of federal receipts and expenditures across all fifty states. It includes several interactive tools showing how much money the federal government sends to states and how much it collects from them.
So if anyone has a problem with "freebies", they should take it up with the republicans and tell them to stop taking all the freebies from you.

Lol. Except it’s not just Republicans, and nobody said Republicans weren’t taking freebies.

What’s being said, and what’s being deflected from, is that the freebies should’ve ended long ago, as there’s a huge amount of jobs available. Thankfully the freebies and eviction moratorium are coming to an end. Taxpayers have paid way too much.
