That stretch of 80 between Clearfield and Brookville can get......interesting..... when it snows.

the worst part - by far is between strattanville and corsica. there is a valley the bridge crosses and any wind, even minor, glazes it over hard. the storm in question occurred days before this trip and if you check the records ,was not very windy at all. it just gets slick. FWIW, I drove in this storm coming from home to home.

and I should point out, very few houses and more importantly, curbs, are visible from I80, meaning that part of the story was made up as well.

I think you may mean Shippenville. The Corsica and Strattanville exits are only about three miles apart and the road is pretty flat and straight.

And yes, that bridge just past the main Clarion exit (or before it depending on which direction you're going) turns into a ball of snot in the winter.

I've been going east on 80 more than once when the road was a sheet of ice going towards the Knox exit from Emlenton.

Fun times.

no I literally mean between strattanville and corsica. If it makes you feel better expand that to the first (of 3) clarion exits - by 66 south. next time you drive it, check out the bridge and they lay of the land. In any storm, that area can be pure glass while the rest of 80 statewide is fine.

The allegheny river bridge by the rt 68 exit is never so much a problem as penndot scrapes and salts that FIRST.

Being able to keep the peace with foreign leaders like we saw much of until recently, certainly is important. Be a shame to see supply cause it to go even higher and higher.

Yeah, except that 90% of Canadian truckers are vaccinated, per the Canadian Minister of Transport.

Interesting strawman argument, but Yep, that’s a wonderful peaceful protest to fight for freedom, choices, etc…, versus giving into mandates and a show me your papers type of government that’s trying to be imposed. Hope it happens in DC.

As to gas prices going up up up. I’m glad I can afford wherever it goes. Unfortunately, be careful what you wish for scenarios don’t come to fruition so well for many.

80,000 trucker openings since November. How would you get those jobs filled?

Shouldn’t have shut the country down to begin with. That nonsense caused a lot of folks to retire, including truckers…but no worries, Sleepy Joe will fix it. After all, he’s in charge, and a former trucker
