Gainey doesnt see the need to change the bridge design.
Ive been impressed with Gainey thus far - he seems to be level-headed and pragmatic, unlike the previous administration and their base of the wealthy, white Progressives in the East End Centre of the Universe.

It was also a poor choice to put two big trucks in the rendering. That does makes it look like an overpass with fast traffic. They should have added a city bus and some walkers and bikers in the image. I now wonder if their intent was to negotiate up on purpose.

More Pittsburgh officials urge PennDOT to slow down on Fern Hollow Bridge replacement

https://triblive.com/local/more-pitt...e-replacement/

“We all understand that this bridge needs to be completed quickly, but we are asking that they think about it aesthetically, and cost effectively,” Moss said. “A new bridge has the ability to enhance the beauty of the city.”

just build the damn thing. from the artists rendering, the mix of general traffic and 18 wheelers means they expect it to flow like the turnpike? do the residents really want that much class 8 traffic?
