Allegheny County Council to consider measures to protect abortion

https://triblive.com/local/allegheny...tect-abortion/

"Allegheny County Council will consider legislation that aims to protect abortion access in the county, even if it would be restricted at a state level.

County Councilman Tom Duerr will introduce legislation this week, in response to the recent Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade.

Duerr is sponsoring a bill known as a trigger law. It would aim to protect abortion access in the county if the state enacted measures restricting or limiting abortion.

“There is a good chance the state will never let counties make their own decisions on this matter, but we’re in uncharted territory and it’s important we take this step now while we have a pro-abortion majority on council in the case that it does,” Duerr said in a statement posted on social media."

Councilman introduces legislation to protect abortion access in Pittsburgh

https://triblive.com/local/councilma...in-pittsburgh/

"Legislation introduced to Pittsburgh City Council on Tuesday aims to protect abortion in the city, even if it would at some point become restricted statewide.

City Councilman Bobby Wilson sponsored three related bills hours after the U.S. Supreme Court overruled Roe v. Wade, deciding that Americans do not have a constitutional right to abortion. The decision clears the way for states to enact their own abortion laws — though Wilson said he wants to pass measures in Pittsburgh that ensure abortion remains accessible in the city even if Pennsylvania bans or restricts it."

it's a wonderful life

you're conceived and you're so excited to be born, be in your mother's arms, go to school, make friends, play sports, etc.

you get to 21 weeks and you're like, yeah, i'm in the home stretch now

then two weeks later your mom is like, this pregnancy thing sucks, i'm gonna get an abortion

and you're like, nooooo! - you try to call a lawyer but you don't have access to a phone

the abortion doctor kills you and then hands your body over to PITT where they cut off your scalp and put in on a rat

isn't life great?

Do you have info on unborn fetuses having consciousness? Can you point me to any study that has been able to prove or even hypothesize when consciousness begins or ends? A lump of meat is not the human life/experience.

Also, im curious why you believe life is so precious? Its not scarce, its incredibly easy to replicate at no cost to anyone, its in its greatest abundance in our known history. If you say its the humanness of the individual, then you are saying that consciousness is the precious factor. And if so, great, I agree. When does that aspect begin and end? Nobody has been able to answer that question to date.

listen to this witch

I don’t have a “good” abortion story. And that’s OK.

" I turned 35 on the day before the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. My belated birthday gift was waking up on the morning of the ruling to bitter waves of sadness, hopelessness, and anger.

Although reproductive freedom activists, including myself, have known for years that this was coming, the decision still felt like a stab in the heart."

imagine how the 24 week old baby feels being actually, not figuratively, killed - that never occurs to these people because they're completely sick and evil

Imagine how the mother feels, being told that her unborn child has a fatal genetic diagnosis and having to abide by a law that forces her to continue gestation, which means unspeakable emotional pain and health complications that are often deadly if the pregnancy isn't terminated.

But no, keep trying to feed everyone your red herrings! Rational people understand that there's a world of gray about this issue no matter how much you try to manipulate it.

This sounds like one of your previous claims that a woman has to die in lieu of abortion, which you never gave proof to? Who says a woman is going to have to abide by a law whose child has a fatal genetic diagnosis and she has to continue to gestation?

'Tidal wave': Pittsburgh abortion clinics see influx of out-of-state patients

https://triblive.com/local/regional/...tate-patients/

"Western Pennsylvania’s two freestanding abortion clinics quickly became key for patients as restrictive laws went into effect in places like Ohio and West Virginia, forcing people to travel hundreds of miles across state lines for abortion care. The ruling gave states the right to decide whether the procedure should be legal."

It felt like a bomb had gone off. … The reality had finally hit us,” said Grabowski, a health care assistant at the clinic. “We had to keep working, we had to keep seeing patients, and the phones were just ringing off the hook. It was a lot.”

"stabbed in the heart", "felt like a bomb went off" - abortion activists and providers

"felt like someone was trying to kill me" - aborted babies before being actually killed
