Hey all,

My fiancé and I are moving to Pittsburgh in the next 6 months and are looking at areas to live. We have narrowed it down to a few different places however any input/tips would be great. We are very familiar with Pittsburgh and have visited most of the places below (except for Crafton).

As far as lifestyle:

- We are 28, no kids for at least 3 more years.
- We love going to and/or watching sports games (Steelers, Penguins) at a local bar/brewery
- We don't really go "out" anymore but being able to walk to a local place in a business district would be nice.
- I work from home, she would be driving mostly west and north of the city
- Ideally we want off-street parking and a small backyard
- Budget is 500k. But due to the unreal property taxes, I'd really prefer to spend 300k.

Places we are looking (favorite at top):

- Bellevue - seems perfect, by far the best business district in our minds
- Dormont - seems nice, good business district
- Crafton - too sleepy?
- Lawrenceville (or nearby) - parking/yard is tough. 3% income and 5% transfer really hurts
- West View - lack of business district

Bellevue and/or Dormont seems to be the best fit for us. We really like Crafton but we are worried its a bit too sleepy and it looks like there aren't a ton of young people (12% between 25-34). I wish Crafton had more development in their tiny business district. Lawrenceville is the perfect demographic for us but parking/backyard is just much tougher to find. West View is nice but doesn't really have a business district similar to Dormont/Bellevue.

Any tips and/or places on where we are looking? Or if we should look at other places?

Thank you!

Dormont over Bellevue only because of walking distance to public transit "T".

There are other walkable places that close to the city, but they aren't as good for going north and west of the city. Bellevue would be good to.

Most of my family lived there or around. I feel its an older population, more residential even though there is a lot of business throughout and some major roads. Just old housing stock and many families still around. My grandparent's generation built all their own homes there or crafton heights.
