Go up north on 79 and check out both Moraine State Park and McConnell's Mill. The mill park is GORGEOUS.

Here's a few pics -- I've never uploaded here before so I hope they turn out....

Visit Ohiopyle Park
Does anyone know anything about the mountain bike trail in the park?
I rode the rail-trail (Allegheny Passage) but it started pouring the morning we were supposed to hit the mtb trail.
We abandoned the ride and had breakfast at the Summit Inn instead (we are old house buffs so that was a bonus!).

Keep the ideas coming

You know another thing I left out? The National Aviary. I haven't been there is awhile, but it is breathtaking.

Great stuff, Drover and Tom6623.

The Hartwood Mansion / Hartwood Acres (off Saxonburg Road in the North Hills) and the Clayton Mansion in Frick park are interesting and worth seeing, too.
