These beers were available several places in Pittsburgh around 2004 and 2005, but for some reason seem to have disappeared (which is a shame, because they are some of my favorites as well).

Well, i know a place in Akron that carries them. I think I saw one place in Youngstown as well. Sad, sad, sad that I have to go to Ohio to get my favorite beers.

I feel your pain... Leaving Indiana soon for my move to Westmoreland Co has me lamenting my loss of easy to get beer from around the world. A 3 minute drive and I'm at a store where getting Rochforte 8 and 10 off the shelf is as hard as getting Budweiser. I will especially miss their fine selection of Hefes, Three Floyds products, and all their great Russian Imperials. Man I'm hating life thinking about having to go through the whole "distributor" crap again.

This topic is much appreciated.

Being from MI, I've always enjoyed the MI beer Bell's. It's based out of Kalamazoo, MI and they have a fabulous summer beer called Oberon. It's a spicey beer and I miss it horribly. I'm looking for a PA beer that's similar because Bell's doesn't ship to people and I'm having a hard time finding it here.

Though, I must admit, not being able to buy beer at the grocery store is driving me insane.

Love Bells, especially their stouts! Had a pretty good batch of their rye stout, and just recently finished off my last bottle of Java stout... Was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. Gotta say, Expedition is the best!

Grocery stores, Walgreen's, heck even Walmart and Kroger's sells hard liquor, beer and wine.

Harrisburg, PA has an annual Microbrew festival, in which a city street is closed, and microbrewers from all over the region provide samples of their craft. Live bands and good food, too. Here's hoping a similar event gets off the ground in Pittsburgh.

I make a good amber ale. Best place in Pittsburgh to buy homebrew supplies? Anyone have any thoughts on this?

People will bad mouth Iron and they have never tried it!

Another very good beer is Straub, out of St. Mary's, PA.

Sorry, that beer was called "Headache in a Bottle" over 30 years when I first tried it, and it still is today. It stinks.

Bell's, fortunately, we can get (at least for now). In fact their Oberon has been on tap at D's this summer, and D's carries a decent selection of their beers in bottles.
