Peter Rabbit's comment is his own opinion--I don't think it reflects the opinions of most people on this forum or in Pittsburgh.
I certainly don't think so, either.

Neither do I....Edgewood isn't a poor uneducated neighborhood.

If you french kiss on your front lawn...you may have some problems, but other than that no one will say anything. And as far as the race thing goes...its one thing to wear a sports jersey with your hat sideways and another to wear a button up with dress shoes.

Default Edgewood overnight parking

Just a quick message for your confirmation, coming from a borough resident.

When parking a car overnight on Edgewood streets, you need to phone in the location and car's info to the police dept. unless you want to risk getting a ticket. Takes only a minute, and you are allotted 60 call-ins per year, if I remember correctly. You can even call in on a Friday, for example, before 5pm and have that one call be valid for the whole weekend (not then needing to phone in each day). This call-in procedure is for cars not already having a yearly permit sticker. Borough residents can buy this yearly permit for $36.

I lived in Edgewood (in the Regent Square part) for many years, up until about two weeks ago. So here is my best shot at answering your questions:

First, to my knowledge there are no rules about gardens--and people have a lot of different gardens!

Second, you do have to register overnight cars with the police, something they started in the time we were there. It is a simple matter and basically an alternative to parking tags. I don't find it oppressive, personally.

Third, we definitely already have same-sex couples and interracial couples, and while I don't know offhand if we have same-sex interracial couples, I doubt you would be any less welcome even if you were the first with that particular combination.

All of three blocks away--still Regent Square, but now the Wilkinsburg part.
