Oh yeah, definitely, assuming your wife and son are not traveling with you!

For business travel, we came to the same conclusion you did except we use a car service rather than the 28X as it is more convenient and work covers the expense...

Indeed. Another example would be visitors--if for some reason a visitor was arriving or departing during a high-congestion period, we might use the 28X and pick them up/drop them off at CMU (and we have done that a couple of times in fact).

Yep, we have used taxis too for longer trips to save on parking (where the math makes sense).
