Everytime I make my way down 18th Street to carson, I see some poor middle-aged, fat schlub (like myself) huffing and puffing, trying to make their way up the hill I just drove down.... aside from the bike trails near the riverfront, I haven't even broken out my 12 speed yet.... I can't bear to think of how much it'll remind me about how I need to stop smoking.....

Pennsylvania Bicycle Laws (http://www.dot.state.pa.us/BIKE/WEB/bikelaws.htm - broken link)business districts . Elsewhere, biking on sidewalks is permitted, but pedestrians have right of way and bikers must give audible warnings before passing.

And sidewalk riding is just not a good idea. Stay on the road, if you slow cars down a little, that is their problem, not yours...
