I didn't know about Hamburg.

Edit: from said Popcity article- "Last year, for example, attendees came from 47 states and 15 countries to Pittsburgh, the city now proven to have the world’s greatest number – and the greatest diversity – of bridges."

I see conflicting reports (still have never seen Hamburg), but I'm going to go with Popcity.
I've only heard Hamburg mentioned, never seen any proof, only because of all of the small pedestrian bridges they have.

Pittsburgh only counts bridges over 20 feet, and doesn't count railroad trestles, I'm pretty sure. Put it in lights on the U.S. Steel building: The City With The Most Bridges Over Which One Can Drive An Automobile!

Default The Mann Hotel

Hello all ,
My Name is Matt Cain , My Grandmother was Alice Mann, Corneys or Jim Manns sister. As a kid I grew up around the hotel their was always something new to explore more antiques then any man could see in a day.
The last time I saw the place open was some were around the mid eighties. Teddy, Cornies son, was running the bar we used to play together as kids . I walked in and tolded the bartender (Teddy) that I was alices grandson he immediatley knew who I was.
Anyhow I have acsess to allot of stories and info via my mother and sisters the Harbisons, but I'm looking for more such as a website or even a way to get hold of Teddy if anyone can help it would be appreciated .
Sincerely
Matt Cain albdriller@comcast.net

For me it is the openness and sincere friendliness of the neighborhoods. Where I grew up and spent most of my life (east suburbs),, you may see the occasional fence for dog control or some such, but for the most part there aren't big fences, and you can talk to your neighbors over the ones that are there.
And,, people in Pittsburgh are actually friendly with the neighbors.

But here in Southern California, nearly everyone with a house has a 7' tall privacy fence surrounding their property. When I told someone here about it, they just could NOT understand how you could live without a fence to "keep the neighbors out". People here are very self-involved, and really don't want to get to know anyone in the area... and they wonder why crime is so high here.

Can't wait to move back to Pittsburgh!!!!

Harbison sisters: Are they aunts or sisters to you? How are they connected to the boys? They still living-- Teddy and Bob? Did you ever take a turtle a "Daily Consitutional"? What a story.....LOL Remember the gigantic Moose Heads and how they always looked at me as I went past! Not scared hearing the spooky stories. People died in the jail cells below and the chains still exist? From what I understand Corny Mann's Hotel was the first Post Office in the area....then turned into the haunted jail and a hot Rocking Bar with lot of stories!
