Pretty new to Pittsburgh and I am looking for tennis courts in the area. I know there are some in Schenley Park. I am on the South Side and I don't know of any around this area. So where do you all play? Also any information on courts with a backboard would be great too.

Maybe not what you are looking for, but there are public red clay courts in Frick Park, along Braddock in Regent Square, which I think is very cool.

The South Side is not tennis friendly. I can't think of any courts over there. Herr's Island-Washington's Landing has at least five courts. And of course all the parks have courts. My only frown of the South Side is the lack of recreational opportunity outside of the bike and river trail and several small gyms.

Tennis in the 'burgh (http://ww3.telerama.com/~johnv/tennis/index.htm - broken link)is a great website that should give you all the info you need to jump right into playing some tennis here in Pittsburgh. In addition to providing a list of most of the courts in the city (http://ww3.telerama.com/~johnv/tennis/tennis3.htm - broken link), along with their conditions and such, there is a good network of people on there to pick up games with, and listings of all the tournaments and events going on around the city.
