not now

there is nothing left
I live near Pittsburgh, not that it matters in this case, but I noticed the Christmas music started before Thanksgiving. They can't even wait until Thanksgiving is over now. It's bad enough when rap music or annoying music is played in retail stores, but to think about the words in a Christmas tune about lost love and hopes for a great Christmas by the previous boyfriend on the holiday is annoying, almost as annoying as a screaming baby that the mother won't do anything about in a store or restaurant. One kid was screaming and screeching so loudly today in a store (while they were playing Christmas music, not that it's related) that my skin was crawling and I almost dropped the items I was going to purchase.

Bob FM is not playing Christmas music and usually doesn't until Christmas day. Everyone else has always started a week or so before Thanksgiving with it from time to time and then pretty much all the time starting Thanksgiving day.

Stores and restaurants start earlier and earlier. Can't blame them. Christmas sales is what keeps most of them above water.

An ancient thread but still a good topic.

As a kid in the early 1980s Pittsburgh radio often played the many Beatles Christmas messages they sent out to fan club members from 1963-1970 (remember those flexi-disks)? But it seemed no holiday music at least until December 1. And it was always mixed in with regular top 40 stuff.
