Do you hear what I hear? Christmas music on the radio!

it seems like christmas music gets here sooner and sooner every year

the retail industry starts shoving christmas down out throats right after labor day
so why not the radio too

i remember you would not even hear about christmas till day after thanksgiving
not now
it seems to get earlier and earlier every year

and then when you finally go christmas shopping in december
there is nothing left

Is this normal for Pittsburgh (this will be my second Christmas here)? Last year at this time Christmas music was on the radio, and I keep thinking I haven't even gone to a Halloween party yet!

Three stations out here in CA do it November 1st.... it's annoying, but it must work. And they aren't small local stations -- they are owned by Clear Channel and CBS...

There is a station here that starts on Nov. 1. The stores already have their Christmas stuff out. Now I can see that in the craft stores, where people are making things, but not in places like Kohl's, Walgreen's, etc.

I refuse to listen to Christmas music until Christmas Eve. This is un-friggin-real, for crying out loud, it's not even Halloween yet! I've been saying it for years, Christmas comes earlier and earlier every year. Before we know it it'll be Christmas 24/7, 365 days a year. The commercialization of it, the shoving of it down our throats. This, this is why I despise this holiday more and more with every passing year. Blah......

It has to be December before I start thinking about Christmas. One holiday at a time. The thing that gets me is that after all the buildup, they stop playing Christmas music and start taking down all the decorations on December 26th, when you're finally actually really in the mood for the holiday.

I don't take down my Christmas decorations until after the New Year
