Actually, I believe it was an article published in 2006. Based on data taken the year before.

Yes. Someone spent yesterday bumping ancient threads.

I think there's bug on the forum software, that takes someone's recent posts and rearranges the words and sentences, then re-posts it again and again only slightly differently each time. Strangely enough it only affects a few user accounts.

Yes, eeccoo or whatever went around and bumped a TON of threads all are way outdated. Even a weather thread, like somehow the weather in Pittsburgh or really anywhere on the planet somehow changes wildly during spring, summer, winter and fall. Last I checked even with climate change it is still slow and there is still seasons in Pittsburgh.

Anyway, we now have a pile of threads going that are super old and outdated. Gee thanks eeccooooo or whatever.

As someone who has his eye on a bunch of different cities for relo (including Pittsburgh and Raleigh) I think this information in this article is very out of date and misleading. Raleigh/Triangle was the poster child of "Best Place to Live and Get a Job" and it looks like because of the internet it caused this massive herding and inflow of people overheating the job market. To me it looks as if the area couldn't grow infrastructure and jobs fast enough for the sheer amount of people moving there. It's been a victim of it's own success.

Well, the original posts were 7 years ago, then someone went on a thread-bumping run for amusement. By all rights this should have stayed dead and buried.

It's not exactly surprising something from 7 years ago would be out of date.

dbsteel,

Isn't it interesting how conditions haven't changed in the past 7 years?
