In the same way I congratulate my Indian coworkers on the cricket world championship victory last year. It's something important to them, so why not?

Even like this, with me not fitting in, I observed that Pittsburghers are very nice and warm and a good word/gesture/attitude goes a long way. We don;t have to have all the same likes and dislikes. After all we are all unique human beings. But as much as I don;t fit in and never read the local newspapers I like local eateries, local beer and even local music.

As much as I myself consider that i don;t fit in, I am sure that when I go back, because I will, at some point, I will have a very American mentality over there, for having lived here so long
I hate people that live in Mt. Lebanon, stinkin' Liberals.

One reason: so I don't have to put up with closed restaurants on the Holiest Night of All.

Yeah, I don't get it either. I have never seen a restaurant close for the Super Bowl, if that is what he is insinuating.

Apparently the CEO of Chick-Fil-A is a Steeler fan. Chick-Fil-A is always closed on Sundays.

"I hope they lose" is a bit harsh, unless you were a die hard fan of the opposite team.
Me of all the people i don;t care at all about American footbal but I honestly hoped they would win because it's so nice when this happens and because it is so important to many of my friends.

I said it with a smile on my face which they could see, but I do enjoy letting these folks know that American football is not the only sport in the world, and not everyone is a Steeler fan

Furthermore, there is a lot more to Pittsburgh than the Steelers. We can now move on with our lives.

I've lived here 4 1/2 years, and have found what the OP is saying to not be true at all.

In my case.
