Bad weather to some is not to all.
Right, and Chicago, Boston, NYC, etc don't have 100% great weather, either. Summer in the South is miserable, and there's the off chance of hurricanes. It all depends on what you like and where you can live. Not very many people move places for the weather.

Exactly. I lived in FL and HATED the weather there. Intense sun, heat and humidity with no relief for 6 months straight in the summer. Brutal. But everyone wants to move down there to "paradise", go figure.

And tust me neighborhood wise, Pittsburgh does much better then Philly...Pittsburgh doesnt have a ghetto that can touch North Philly, Germantown, West Philly, Olney, etc....

We all know Homewood is Pittsburgh's Worst..Even that cant touch North Philly and Olney not by a mile.

Center City is nice, but everything in Center City Philadelphia is available in Pittsburgh, its just not all of it is Downtown Pittsburgh you have to go to neighborhoods (Shadyside, Southside, Sq Hill, Etc) to find it.

Our elderly popluation has died off and our average age is becoming on par with the rest of the country. When will these highschool kids stop using this exucse? I like our weather in the fall, spring, and summer. The cloudy days is all bull ship. If you have a partly cloudy day it shows up on the fact list as cloudy so people like this can come on here and whine.

Confusing to drive? I love that about Pittsburgh, much more fun than up three blocks over 4........................

depressing. This dude orbllswhatever lives in Eastern PA. I love philly, but I am not going to go on their board and call their town depressing because I saw bad neighborhoods driving down lancaster ave.
Oh wow, he should get warned for trolling. What a jackass whiny baby.

Industry is what built this city. The city and county have been doing a great job of revitalizing these brownfields, or industrial sites. Unfortunately, this city was such an industrial empire that is impossible to develop all of these sites yesterday, especially since many of thesed site are still in use. Having said that, without industry, there would be no Pittsburgh, or no leafy suburb like Wexford with a high quality of life, thanks to Pittsburgh's prosperity. There would be no cultural amenities and quality of places of higher learning that pretty much blow away all cities of comparable size if it were not for industry and philanthropical industrialists. Yes, the gloom of winter and the grittiness of the city my not be aesthetically appealing. However, where there is industry, there is prosperity. Pittsburgh epitomizes that.

I just feel sorry for the OP. He came in here and was very nice and thoughtful until a bunch of jackasses (including myself) turned this thread ugly.

But, thanks to the OP. Your words were nice, and we should learn to pay more attention to post like yours instead of these negative chodes with nothing to do but stir things up.

Everybody should give the OP a positive rep since his thread got hijacked and destroyed.

Right, so now let's try to be calm, rational and civil.
One more strike and this thread is out.
Yac.

Maybe that's why I liked it there when I went. In my area of NC...it is growing so fast and everything is new. There is no history here...I mean we're getting there. The city just had more to it than the clean streets and strip malls down here.

And that is why I like the people of Pittsburgh. Reminded me of the nice people back in NC...even if they give you a 'tude every once and a while.
