I believe Studebaker's was the old "Happy Landing".

Then you probably remember when they had hot dogs on the menu? I worked with some guys who like to go there for lunch and get a couple hot dogs and a draft.

Never had the dogs, but back in the 80's they had some good pizza and 5 dollar pitchers of beer.

On second thought, I'm thinking it was out in Robinson. I don't know. I'm getting old!

I'm from the UK and was in Pittsburgh in the summer of 1989. I was working for IKEA and was helping with the new store there. There was an 'opening party' for all the staff and visiting staff (there were loads of us from Scandinavia, Europe and Canada) at the Metropol. Fantastic night, you lot sure know how to throw a party. There was a (local)? band playing that night called The Dogs. They were superb and got to meet the band afterwards. I bought one of their tapes but would love to have their music on CD or even stream it, but I can't find any of their stuff anywhere.
Can anyone help? Were you there that night?

There used to be a place on the lower level of an office building on the right as you head out Rt. 60 toward Crafton/Carnegie - not still in Robinson though, it think that was Kennedy Twp.?

You are top dog dude thanks, that's just great.
I checked out your Electric Banana site...……….impressive. Interesting to see the punk movement from an American point of view.
Punk in the UK was very much a revolt against the lame music of the time but also the politics and hence the spate of city riots.
The Slaughter and the Dogs gig at Manchester Uni being a typical example where after the gig the huge plate glass windows
of the hall where demolished. It was scary real.

Hi, TheDogsFan, I'm Joe, the webmaster of the Electric Banana Pittsburgh site.

The Dogs came from Erie, a couple hours north of Pittsburgh, & broke up quite a few years ago. They've posted some songs on Soundcloud that may be downloaded free of charge:

Here are some videos of the Dogs performing at the Electric Banana in 1988:

In recent years, Bruce, the former singer of the Dogs, started Volcano Dogs, which made a couple albums before breaking up. They can be purchased here:

Their music is much different than the Dogs, however.

Hope this helps!
