Opie is a career politician that never worked in the real world. Graduated in 2002, elected to city council in 2003. He's riding that gravy train of easy money and great retirement benies.

I would have loved to see what would be happening now if Mayor O'Connor was alive. My guess is he wouldn't be chest bumping at bars and using the security van to take his buds to a concert.

I don't think you could rate a mayor of a city with declining population as being 'successful' unless he reverses the trend.

What's goin' on with the consolidation? Is it going to happen? Is it a good idea or not?

As long as the "traditional" Dem. machine is in control, PGH will steadily decline in Population. They are taxing themselves right out of existence.

Lukester in my book is not doing much at the helm of the city. His best action thus far to me has been the increased tearing down vacant properties and creating open space where crack houses had been located.
The lack of creative thinking and lack of creative folks in city hall all adds up to same ol, same ol. Mayor of this town needs some economic understanding and creativity. And yes be trustworthy.
