I grew up on the north side. The neighbors used to ask me questions like " how many people my dad had killed this week?" i was 12 years old, had no idea what they were talking about....only realized it when i was an adult and did a lot of "errands" for him and his friends from the rosa villa !!!!

BTW, someone updated the wikipedia at some point since my posting here and it now says he died in 1975.

Mckeys Rocks (sic?) in the '30s and '40s was a time and place that spawned many family stories of Mafia intrigue when I was a young boy in L.A. in the 1950s. We almost moved back a few years ago but decided not to because of rumors that the benign Mafia had been run out of town and replaced by a vicious gang with no redeaming values. Democrats.

There are a few black street gangs that call them selves mafia, but thats all the real current mafia activity... In the southern part of Beltzhoover there's a crip set known as the 4 Duce Crip Set Mafia
In the part of Central Northside there's a gang called the HoodTown Mafia.
