I've talked to a few people who've claimed to be in the Mafia or have connections to it. Personally, I don't believe their stories.

Smart that you don't believe them. Most gangsters do not go around telling people...and most low self esteem people claim they know them

what ever mafia exists today in mainly in stock market, futures, commodities and bank transfers........as per prostitution, gambeling and drugs that is now controled by the Albanians and Asain mafia's

My mom always talks about friends and other people she knew, who were Italian, being found dead in rivers or the woods. Pretty muffed up.

The 'numbers racket' has always been tied to "organized crime", in fact it can be their bread and butter. Anybody who doesn't know someone who 'books' numbers in Pittsburgh, or the surrounding area, lives a very sheltered life. Western Pa is "infamous" for the 'numbers raket'. My family never played their numbers with the state, always played them with 'bookie's'.
