The only place I ever found to eat at that hour was Eat & Barf. And after doing that about three times, I learned that I'd rather eat gravel to satisfy my late-night hunger because it a) tastes better, b) is more nutritious, and c) is easier on my GI tract. There's always the O if you're in Oakland but it can get pretty sketchy after bar closing.

Maybe the late-night dining scene has improved since I left the 'burgh. I sure hope so for y'all's sake.

Tom's on Carson Street, Ritter's on Baum, Antoon's and Sorento's in South Oakland, and of course, the O.

There are several options on th South Side that stay open until 3am or later on Friday and Saturday, as opposed to a few years ago.

There is Cambodican Kitchen, great Asian food.

Pizza...Pizza Sola and Giotto Pizza...both great

The Pickle Barrel...hot dogs, burgers, etc

Mike and Tony's Gyros

Original Gyro.

There are few more. The options have been increasing. There is a surely a demand.

Yea - I got the impression when I was last in the Burgh a few months back...That Southside, Oakland and somewhat the Strip are Pittsburgh's 24/7 hoods...My thing after partying was Always going to Oakland for that early morning bite to eat...Loved Oakland for that.
