Huh?

I knew they were canceling scheduled events, but I highly doubt they are closing the city. My employer wouldn't close.

I believe they're talking about CITY OF PITTSBURGH employees so that they can attend the funerals and memorial services for the slain officers. I'm sorry for any confusion.

The city also announced that all of its offices would be closed at 2 p.m. Wednesday and all day Thursday. They were already to be closed for Good Friday.

City Council has canceled all official business this week.

Huge turnout expected for officers' memorial

Okay...all types of heads are getting ready to roll in this. They're coming down on the 911 operator now for NOT informing the police that the actor had weapons, even though, they were legal. The operator is placed on administrative leave and the operator is very distraught. Here is the article in the Post-Gazette.

Critical error by 911 worker failed to note Poplawski owned guns

Also, when listening to a local radio station this morning, they said Poplawski was telling the police detectives, during an interview yesterday, that the police need better guns and told investigators he's glad he's in jail, instead of the hospital, so that he could eat and work out now, just basically showing no type of remorse. I hear they're also tryin' to get his mother on some charge, too. I forget what they're trying to go after her for.

They should go after her for raising a Neo-Nazi freak that can't control his little emotions and owning AK-47s with bullet proof vests. Seriously, if I had a kid that lived in my basement, owned a AK-47, had a bullet proof vest, couldn't get through highschool, and had a dishonerable discharge from the military he wouldn't be living in my house. This was a time bomb ticking to go off.

If you've seen the interview with the mother and grandmother it does not paint a pretty picture. I believe one of them accused the cops of stealing her purse while in the house. This kid was a whack job just waiting to explode, too bad he couldn't just kill himself.

I hope there's a charge for instigating a mentally unstable person. She used emergency 911, meant for emergencies, and created this catastrophy. She wasn't being physically or verbally threatened, but she called the police to belittle her son.

To me, this is an incompetent mother, incapable of responsible parenting. If she wanted her adult son to move out of the house, she could have gone about it a million different ways.
