My husband and I are looking to buy our first home and have narrowed the search down to 2 homes in Shaler:

1) a Ryan home in the Colony Oaks neighborhood and
2) a Maronda home in the Holly Ridge neighborhood

Does anyone have experience with either of these neighborhoods or builders that would help us with our decision? We love both houses and just can't seem to make a decision.

Thanks!

I am building my first home with Ryan right now and having a great time. I've visited Maranda properties, but I just didn't like their lay outs/floorplans and how they looked. They just look cheap!

I was told to stay away from Maranda homes also by others.

Good luck and enjoy the process of building your new first home, it's a blast!

Holly Ridge has the better elementary school.

I also have to recommend you not go with Maronda. Ryan has a much better reputation than Maronda. You'll have a better shot at getting what you expect, just make sure you're paying a fair price to Ryan!
