You think Pittsburgh is bad... I'm in Germany. They somehow managed to get 80 million of these bastards in the same place. Sure there's a Turk here and there selling a kebap, but what I really want is a bloody BURITTO. GAH. Disgusting.

You know what they should do, they should get one of every kind of person and put them on an island. Sounds like a great reality TV show. "Diversity Island"

Typical yinzer mentality. IMHO.

For the record I don't own a Steeler jersery, Primanti's stinks, and I have never uttered the word yinz/yunz.(Thanks, Mom!)

I'm merely stating that a so-called diverse area is tough to find.

What precisely are you looking to find? A group of children with varying skintones dancing in circles while their parents share ethnic recipies and talk about worldly experiences?

There is such a place...it's called Washington, DC. Alas, they are all of upper-middle incomes with professional degrees. Diversity lost!

EDIT: It's called Washington, DC NW. Oh, and Virginia suburbs.

Here is an example of some diversity I experienced recently.

I was at Your Inner Vagabond this summer (while they were still continuously open, apparently...). There was a band of some sort. I was with a group of friends (early 20's) drinking Turkish coffee and eating baklava. Next to us were a few teenagers drinking (probably regular) coffee. I think they were some kids on a first date or something like that. By them were some yuppies who brought some wine along. There were some people who probably don't wash their hair or wear shoes next to them. Near the band were some people with bongos. There were some punks along the wall with beers, next to a couple who must have been in their 70s. Up front there was a few couples/groups, gay and straight. I have no idea what color anyone's skin was. It doesn't really matter.

That there is no such thing as a diverse place? Well, that remark was kind of sarcastic. But...

then why are you bitching about Pgh not being "diverse"!? What precisely do you WANT?!

OK, I'm not "bitching" about the lack of diversity. So many people that want to move here want to live in a diverse area of Pgh. I don't believe there is one, closest would probably be SH along with the Shadyside area due to the college students.

If an out-of-towner asked me where to live to be diverse, I'd probably say enroll at Pitt or CMU.
