The uneducated ones are! Never hire day laborers! Hire American teens, or contractors who hire Americans instead! God keep this region from going the way other parts of the country have!

"Illegals" are the new Jews. All it's going to take is a Sarah Palin to kick things into gear. Congratulations! Better move somewhere they actually have them before Kristallnacht so you can take part.

I'm also no "La Raza" illegal immigration apologist, so keep your clever rebuttals about "liberals" to yourselves. Or don't, it's a free country.

Before things get too emotional, remember that we have an illegal immigration forum to discuss illegal immigrants.
Yac.

Uh hunh...............Go to the illegal immigrant forum and see how great they are. They supress wages for the American poor, their children they pop out here cost the taxpayers billions of dollars, they are partially responsible for CA going bankrupt, they kill more citizens every year than have been killed in Iraq, they bring gangs and drugs to our country, and they don't assimlate.

What the hell. I work on the side, pulling stumps, mowing grass, planting new trees, etc on the weekends and a few evenings after work for exactly what you are paying. I am a hard working Pittsburgher, and work my ass off. I don't text. I got my side gig on craigslist. Last summer my company had lots of overtime work. Now I make around an extra hundred or so a week for spending cash through this. I like to do outside work. What else would I be doing? Probably watching TV or just taking a walk. This way I get excersize and make extra spending cash.

It may be how you are asking people. You make it sound like they are going to be forced to work in one of King Jong Il's labor camps. The person I work for is laid back, I make my own hours, and I am honest with her as she is honest with me. I don't cheet her on hours, or if I take a break, I don't charge her for it. But she doesn't come across as a slave driver.

not sure how I should feel after reading this thread. granted its old, but it shows the mentality of folks.

anyways all I ever hear are folks yelling "they took our jobzz!" when I have yet to see an American willing to work for minimum wages doing construction, in the farms, physical labor. the cons come along with the territory of coming from below poverty to being able to have electricity, food, shelter which happens to be more than what most these folks had previously. there's a solution to this and I doubt i'll see it in my lifetime.

For a few summers when I was a young teenager my grandfather paid me $2 to mow a 1 acre hillside in his backyard, and he'd stand or sit higher up the hill and watch the entire time. Sometimes he'd walk down and give helpful instructions by trying to yell above the lawnmower engine supplemented with waving his arms and pointing about how I could be more efficient with my technique and what direction he wanted the grass clippings blown out of the side chute.

I do hope they're paying their share of the family data plan. And gas, of course.

Actually, it's "Dey turk err jurbs!"

A farmer who's had a stand at the Firehouse market for several years is no longer coming because he couldn't find anyone to help him harvest crops this year.
