Sorry, it just is. It reminds me of a jumbo-sized aluminum-sided trailer, especially sitting so close to the Gulf Building.

It looks like it should look...ugly. Every dollar used to build that thing was earned by groups shaking down local businesses or the government for our tax dollars. It might as well be a monument to Jesse Jackson.

It's especially frustrating to me because a couple of neat old buildings, probably from the 19th century, were razed in order to clear the land for it.

What proof is there that the Cultural Center was built from "shakedown" money??...oh I forgot this is
Pittsburgh and people make assumptions like that..because this is Pittsburgh..and they don't know that
much..

Most of that area was a parking lot since before the 80s.

The remainder were a couple of very small dumpy buildings. There was nothing neat about them. As a matter of fact, one was a porn shop.

I have pictures. They looked very much like the buildings across the street, which I love.

Dude, seriously? Come on man.

I feel this building would have been better if it was located Uptown. It would have fit in better, and brought new life (other than the arena) to a drabby area. There is nothing wrong with new modern lowrises downtown, but we need to save room for a new skyscraper that Pittsburgh may get 400 years from now.
